Jaw spreader

A jaw spreader is a good tool for keeping the mouth open on, for example, a pike for unhooking. However, avoid using the jaw spreader if you intend to release the fish back. Instead, use the gill grip to hold and open the fish's mouth without damaging the teeth and other parts.
