The Right Camping Gear for the Fishing Trip

With the right camping gear, the fishing trip will be more enjoyable. Tents and portable stoves are essential items in the camper's equipment, but don't forget the fish smoker. With a simple smoking box, you can turn freshly caught fish into a delicacy in just a few minutes. A tip for getting the right smoke flavor on the fish is to include some fresh spruce needles along with the smoking chips.

 

Three Items You Can't Forget on the Camping Trip!

  • Mosquito repellent: the mosquitoes also love to camp... they love campers at least! Heading out and camping by the fishing waters makes it hard to avoid mosquitoes. However, you can prepare with mosquito repellent to alleviate the worst of the mosquito attacks.
  • Headlamp: it can get dark quickly and when it's dark in the woods, it's really dark! With a headlamp, you can always find your way back to the tent after the evening's fishing trip and you discover small items that you may have dropped on the ground.
  • Thermos: all fishermen probably have a thermos at home but before heading out on the camping trip, it's smart to truly test that it keeps the warmth. When you've started the portable stove and brewed a large pot of coffee, a thermos that keeps the coffee hot all day is worth its weight in gold.
