In 1989, cycling enthusiast Michael Eidson competes in the "Hotter'N Hell 100." And that’s exactly what it is – a hundred-mile race in the extreme summer heat of Wichita Falls, Texas. Water is essential to survive the race, and there are few places to refill a water bottle. Eidson, a medical technician, decides to fill an IV bag with water and slip it into a white tube sock. He then places the contraption on the back of his bike, throws the thin hose over his shoulder, and secures it with a clothespin.

Hands-free hydration is born, and Eidson can easily drink while cycling.

It took courage, conviction, and imagination to evolve from an IV bag in a tube sock to being sold by a sales team with a motorcycle background.
