Storing and transporting rods, baits, tackle, and other items in an organized manner is an important part of a successful fishing day.

Bait boxes and compartments are essential for storing your baits and other small items such as hooks, swivels, jig heads, and weights. Many storage bags and boxes can be used both at sea and on land, however, some are better suited for one or the other.

Backpacks with built-in chairs are preferable if, for example, you are going to spend longer periods on the ice. Coolers of various kinds are always sensible to keep fish, drinks, and food cool on a warm day.

Keeping fishing gear organized is essential for fun and efficient fishing. Few things are as frustrating as not finding the hook remover when it's time to unhook a pike or dealing with tangled leaders when the trout finally start rising. Good storage helps keep track of both baits and accessories, and it also extends the lifespan of fishing gear.

 

Buying a fishing bag

There are many types of fishing bags and storage solutions. What's best for you depends on what and how you fish. For some, a bait box in a backpack is sufficient, while others prefer a sturdy fishing bag with several bait boxes. The ice fisher often invests in a chairback bag, and the fly fisher sorts the flies in a fly box. We have storage for all types of fishing!

 

3 underrated storage options for the sport fisherman

  • Storage cases/bags: Leaders and stingers have a tendency to always cause tangles. With a rig wallet with several different bags, you can easily keep them separate and sort out your various tackle so they don't get tangled with each other.
  • Waterproof bags: Available in several sizes but share a common feature - they keep water out. These bags are invaluable to have in the boat or on the ice to always keep change, electronics, and other items guaranteed dry. A waterproof phone case isn't a bad idea either. It's never fun to drop your phone in the water�
  • Rod bands: There are several ways to protect your fishing rods during transport and storage, but with a rod band, you can just disassemble the rods and keep them together even when they are still rigged so that you can quickly start fishing.
