At Fiskejournalen, we have extensive experience in fishing in all kinds of weather. We know how important it is to have the right clothes for all types of fishing occasions. You need to be able to stay dry and warm, but also use garments for safer fishing. Here you can find flotation garments, slip-resistant boots, wading shoes, sufficiently thick gloves, and so on. One of our standing tips is that you should think "layer upon layer" when dressing for fishing. Preferably have several thinner layers and possibly take off a shell garment when the sun comes out. It is harder to do when you only have, for example, a thick fleece and t-shirt. The clothes make the fishing trip!

Affordable but Good Fishing Clothes

Staying dry and warm is a prerequisite for a successful fishing trip. Once you've gotten wet or started to feel cold, it not only becomes unpleasant to be outdoors, but you will definitely fish worse. Therefore, purchasing the right fishing clothes is a very good investment for the future.

Warm Fishing Clothes

You probably know about the layer-on-layer principle, and that's exactly what we recommend for the fishing trip. With a base layer, a warming middle layer, and finally a shell garment that keeps the rain out, you will go a long way and create conditions for a pleasant fishing trip.

Waders for Fishing

With a pair of waders, you can reach fishing spots that are otherwise inaccessible. Waders are used primarily in coastal fishing for sea trout where one often fishes on shallow bottoms or in fly fishing to avoid vegetation that interferes with casting.

Consider This When Dressing for the Fishing Trip:

  • It's better to dress too warmly and take off clothes than to dress too thinly and be cold.
  • It's often colder by the water than you might think, so it never hurts to bring an extra sweater.
  • Polarized glasses are a must in fishing gear. They protect the eyes from hooks that go astray and they make you see fish and bottom structures much better!
